Kanchanmala Correspondent: On Friday, Bengali Pachinkot, the birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore is celebrated. The birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore is celebrated in various schools in the state. Similarly, on Friday, the birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore was also celebrated in PM Shri Sekerkot Class XII School under Kamalasagar Vidhan Sabha.

On the occasion of poet Rabindranath Tagore's birthday, area MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, Women's Commission Vice Chairperson Advocate Madhumita Chowdhury, school headmaster Santosh Kumar Roychowdhury, School Management Committee Chairman Sudhir Chandra Das and others were present. All those present at this day's event paid tribute to poet Rabindranath Tagore by placing wreaths at his portrait. On the occasion of Rabindranath Jayanti, a total of 20 students, the first 10 in the secondary and higher secondary merit list, were felicitated at this event today.  On this day, the students of the school staged the play Kabuliwala written by Rabindranath Tagore with Rabindranath music. Poems written by Rabindranath were recited by the students of the school. The guests present at this day's event discussed in detail the special contribution of poet Rabindranath Tagore and said that poet Rabindranath Tagore was not only a world poet, he was a politician in the independence movement of subjugated India and he gave up his knighthood in the horrific massacre of Jallianwala Bagh. Even though Rabindranath Tagore is not among everyone today, the music, poetry and drama he left behind are still immortal for the whole of India. Even today, the memories left behind by poet Rabindranath Tagore are a priceless treasure for the whole of India.
